Office equipment

Devices that should be tested regularly in office operations include text and data processing equipment, dictation machines, desk and floor lamps, photocopiers, automatic booking machines, document stamping machines and ventilators.

In addition to electrical appliances such as hairdryers and styling irons, infrared lamps, shavers and bottle warmers, heating ovens, electrical hand-held appliances, table and floor lamps, tv sets and radios also have to be checked regularly in care homes and nursing homes. Extension and appliance connection cables also need to be included in the test cycle.

Medical practices / medical facilities

A large number of devices and furniture are used in doctors’ surgeries and medical facilities that are regularly subject to dguv testing. These include ultrasound equipment, infusion pumps, electric height-adjustable chairs, blood pressure monitors, electric inhalers, pulse oximeters, electric wheelchairs and sterilizers for example.

In accordance to DGUV regulation 3, such devices and equipment must be checked every 24 months to ensure their safety and functionality. The inspection includes an inspection of the electrical safety as well as the general functionality and safety of the equipment.
